On February 20th-21st 2016 the Rising Stars Optional Team competed in the Twisted Moose competition in Minneapolis. There were many personal bests in the Team and Individual Event categories.

The Rising Stars Level 7 team had a great meet posting their highest Team Score of the season with a 108.675, and they finished in 4th Place. The Level 7’s had numerous Top 5 finishes. Maggie Kelly place 4th on Vault with a 9.3. Cassie Schreier placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.25, 5th on Floor with a 9.275, and she also finished 4th All-Around with a 35.45. Kendall Rogers had a huge Vault and tied for 1st Place with a 9.4. Ava Key finished 3rd on Beam with a 9.1, and Ava was the Floor Champion with a 9.475. Makena Goodman placed 3rd on Beam with a 9.1, 2nd on Floor with a 9.4, and she finished 5th All-Around with a 35.65. Marissa Muller tied for 4th place on Beam with a 9.025, and she was the Vault and Floor Champion with a 9.25, and 9.425 respectively. Congrats on a great meet Level 7’s!

Our Level 8 Team had an outstanding meet, earning 3rd place as a team, and scoring their highest team score by more than a point with a 109.1. Molly Peterson had a great meet placing in the Top 4 in all events. Molly placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.175, she tied for 4th on Bars with a 9.075, and finished 4th on Beam (8.75), Floor (9.425), and in the All-Around (36.425). Maya Kelly placed 5th on Vault with 8.85. Erica Stanton had an awesome meet placing in the Top 5 in all 4 events as well. Erica tied for 4th on Vault with a 9.0, she placed 2nd on Bars with a 9.3, 4th on Beam with a 9.075, 5th on Floor with a 9.35, and Erica place 3rd All-Around with a 36.725. Allexa Larson had a great meet placing in the Top 10 in a large age group with a 35.125.  Lucy Gibbs placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.325, 3rd on Floor with a 9.275, and Lucy placed 5th All-Around with a 35.0. Fantastic job Level 8’s!

The Rising Stars Level 9 team had a great meet placing 2nd in the Team competition with their 2nd highest team score with a 108.0. Mya Hooten placed 5th on Bars, and was Vault and Floor Champion with a 9.4 and a 9.6, respectively. Mya also placed 2nd All-Around. Grace Gerten had a great Beam routine, and finished in 5th place. Emma Albrecht was the Beam Champion with a 9.3, and Emma placed 5th in the All-Around with a 36.125. Lindsey Malicki scored 9.2 on Vault and placed 4^th on Floor with 9.375. Taylor Siebenaler had a huge Vault and earned 1st Place with a 9.5. Awesome job to the Rising Stars Level 9 Team!

The Rising Stars Level 10 gymnasts did a great job with multiple Top 5 finishes. Bella Mascia placed 4th on Bars, she tied for 3rd place on Beam and tied for 4th in the All-Around. Jessica Chiu placed 2nd on Bars with a 9.1, tied for 2nd on Beam with a 9.2, placed 4th on Floor with a 9.275, and Jessie placed 2nd All-Around with a 36.475. Great job Level 10’s!

Good Luck and safe travels to our Optional Team as they travel to Florida in less than 2 weeks!

On February 12th-14th, the Rising Stars Optional Team traveled to Milwaukee, WI for the Midwest Twisters Harley Davidson Gymnastics Meet. For some, this was there very first travel meet, so it was exciting to see new competition.

The Level 7 team tied their best Team score for 5th place with a 108.575. Top 5 places were: Makena Goodman placed 2nd on Floor with a 9.3. Ava Key was the Beam Champion with a 9.225, and Marissa Muller was also the Beam Champion in her age group with a 9.35 and placed 4^th on Vault (9.2) and all-around (35.95). Ella Chaves also placed 4^th on Beam (9.075). Cassie Schreier took 5^th on Floor (9.225) and Kendall Rogers placed 5^th on Bars. Maggie Kelly had a great vault (9.225). Great job Level 7’s!

The Level 8 team had a good competition day and had their 2nd best Team Score of a 107.275. Highlights in the Top 5 were: Lucy Gibbs placed 3rd on Vault, and also on Floor with a 9.2. Lucy also placed 2nd on Beam with a 9.15. Maya Kelly had a great meet:  she was the Bar Champion with a 9.25 and placed 3rd on Floor with a 9.25, 4^thon Beam (9.2), and also placed 3rd All-Around with a 36.225. Keep up the hard work Level 8’s!

The Rising Stars Level 9 Team had a great meet and placed 4th with their 2nd highest team score of a 107.4. Lindsey Malicki placed 3rd on Floor with a 9.3. Emma Albrecht was 3rd on Beam with a 9.325. Isabella Frattalone placed 4th on Floor with 9.25 Mya Hooten had a great first Level 9 meet with Rising Stars. Mya placed 3rd on Vault and Bars with a 9.025, and a 9.1 respectively. Mya was also 2nd on Floor with a 9.3, and she was the All-Around Champion with a 36.375. Great job Level 9’s!

The Level 10 Rising Stars gymnasts did a fantastic job as well. Jessica Chiu was the Level 10 Bar Champion with a 9.075 and placed 4^th on beam. Bella Mascia had a great meet and was the Level 10 Beam Champion with a 9.05, took 5^th on Bars and she also placed 2nd All-Around with a 34.75. Congrats girls!

On Saturday, January 30th, the Rising Stars Optional Team participated in the Legacy Luau Meet at Fort Snelling.

The Rising Stars Level 7 Team had a great meet scoring more than 2 points higher than their previous meet and placed 5th with a 108.575! Here are some highlights from last weekend’s meet. Ava Key placed 3rd on Beam with a 9.15. Marissa Muller placed 3rd on Floor with a 9.475, and Makena Goodman had a beautiful routine and was the Beam Champion with a 9.2. Cassie Schreier tied for 3rd on Floor with a 9.4, and Kendall Rogers tied for 3rd on Bars with an 8.80. Congrats on a great meet Level 7’s!

Our Level 8 Team had a good meet and placed 4th with a 107.05. Finishing in the Top 3 were; Maya Kelly had an awesome Bar routine and placed 2nd with a 9.35, and Lucy Gibbs tied for 3rd on Beam with an 8.85. Keep up the hard work Level 8’s!

The Rising Stars Level 9 Team increased their team score to a 108.025, and placed 2nd as a Team! Emma Albrecht placed 1st on Beam, Floor, and All-Around with a 9.275, 9.4, and a 36.4 respectively. Great job Emma! Bella Frattalone placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.15, she was the Bar Champion with a 9.325, and placed 3rd All-Around with a 36.15. Lindsey Malicki placed 2nd on Floor with a 9.25. Great job on your 2nd meet Level 9’s!

In their 2nd meet of the season, the RSGA Level 10’s did an awesome job. Jessica Chiu was the Vault Champion with a 9.35, great job Jessie! Bella Mascia earned an All-Around score more than 2 points higher than her first meet with a 35.25. Great job Level 10’s!

On Saturday (1/16/16), the RSGA Optional Team competed in their home meet the Rising Stars Invitational. This was the first competition of the season for our level 7-8-9-10 Team gymnasts, and for many it was the first meet competing new skills and/or competing in a new Level.
Our Level 7’s had a good first meet. Highlights include (top 3): Ava Key placing 2nd on Beam with a 8.95, and she had a great Floor routine and placed 2nd with a 9.475. Ava also placed 3rd All-Around with a 35.6. Cassie Schreier had a big Vault, which put her in 2nd place on Vault with a 9.3. Marissa Muller also had a nice Vault, placing 3rd with a 9.175. Makena Goodman had a very nice Beam routine, and she earned 1st place with a 9.25.
The RSGA Level 8 Team had an awesome meet placing 3rd with a 107.775. Erica Stanton placed 3rd on Vault with a 8.925, and she also placed 2nd All-Around with a 36.275! Maya Kelly earned 2nd place on Bars with a 9.175. Molly Peterson had a nice Beam routine and finished in 2nd place with a 9.275. Lucy Gibbs had a great Vault that scored an 8.9, good enough for 3rd place.
The Level 9 Team did an outstanding job in their first meet taking 1st place with a 107.325. Ellie Hammes place 2nd on Bars (15 and older age group). Lindsey Malicki (8-14 age group) placed 2nd on Bars with a 8.75, and 2nd on Beam with a 9.0. Lindsey was also the Floor and All-Around Champion with a 9.25, and 35.825 respectively. Bella Frattalone was the Bar Champion with an awesome routine that earned a 9.25, and also placed 2nd All-Around with a 34.975. Emma Albrecht placed 3rd on Vault and Bars with a 9.1, and an 8.3 respectively. Emma was also the Beam Champion with a beautiful routine that earned a 9.3.  Taylor Siebenaler had a huge Vault that scored a 9.5, giving her 1st place.
Jessica Chiu and Isabella Mascia competed in their first Level 10 meet of the season. Jessica placed 1st on Vault with a 9.05, 1st on Bars with a 9.05, 1st on Beam with a 9.275, 2nd on Floor, and she was the Level 10 All-Around Champion with a 36.025. Bella placed 2nd on Vault with a 8.925, 3rd on Bars, Beam, Floor, and placed 3rd All-Around.

Rising Stars Xcel teams competed in their first meet of the season this last weekend at the Holiday Spirit meet at Hamline University.  The girls are off to a great start with the Platinum and Gold teams both taking first place, Silver placing second and Bronze team taking third.

In the Platinum level Corrie Hale and Ella Endrizzi took 2^nd and 3^rd in the All-Around with scores of 35.625 and 35.425 respectively.  Corrie also took 2^nd on Bars and Floor and 3^rd on vault, Ella placed 3^rd on Beam and Mary Jackson came in 2^nd on Vault.

For the Gold level in the 11 & under age group, Viviana Kenfield took 3^rd AA with a 36.40 and also took 2^nd on Vault and 3^rd on Beam.  Ashley Braun took the floor title with a 9.45 and Lacey Thomas took the Vault title with a 9.3!  For the 12 year olds, Ava Karlstad came out on top with an All-Around of 36.20.  She also placed 1^st on floor (9.4), 2^nd on Vault (8.9) and Beam (8.8), and 3^rd on Bars (9.1).  Nea Nwanokale took 1^ston Vault with a score of 8.95.  In the 13+ age group, Maddie Harding took first with a score of 35.35.  She also came out first on Beam and second on Bars and Floor.  Bailey Turner took 3^rd on Beam and Floor and Lucy Woodley took 3^rd on Bars!

For the Silvers, Kendall Buffalo took 3^rd on Vault with a 9.05 in the 9 & under age group.  For the 10 year olds, Julia Sagstetter took 3^rd AA with a 35.45 and 3^rd on Vault with a 9.05.  Sophie Topp came in 2^nd on Beam with a 9.4 and 3^rd on Floor with a 9.0.  In the 11 year old age group Elle Peterson took the top spot with a 36.15.  She also took the Vault and Bars titles with scores of 9.4 and 9.35 respectively and 3^rd on Floor with an 8.7.  Katie Sanderson came in 3^rd on both Bars (9.1) and Beam (9.25).  And in the 13+ age group, Jocelyn Morales took 1^st with an All-Around score of 36.5, first on floor (9.0), second on Bars (9.2), and third on Bars with a 9.2.  Noelani Hendrickson took the bar title with a score of 9.3.  Lila Henderson took 3^rd on Vault with a 9.2.

For the Bronze level in the 8 and under age group, Courtney Peters claimed the Bars title with a score of 9.25 and took 2^nd on Floor with a 9.2.  In the 11+ age group, Alexa Weihrauch took the All-Around title scoring a 37.0, 1^st on Beam with a 9.6, and 2^nd on Vault with a 9.3.  Taylor Wlaschin took 1^st on Floor with a 9.3.  Soraya Hegazy took 1^ston Bars with a high 9.4.

 In addition every gymnast that competed qualified to the State meet!  Awesome job girls!
